Tap which team won each rally. The score keeper applies traditional side-out scoring from the USA Pickleball rulebook, including the 0-0-2 start in doubles, and tells you who serves from which side.
Game setup
How the score keeper works
It follows traditional side-out scoring in the USA Pickleball Official Rulebook:
- Only the serving side scores. When the serving side wins a rally, it gets a point and the same player serves again from the other side (Rule 4.A).
- Doubles: the score is three numbers, the serving team's score, the receiving team's score, then 1 or 2 for the first or second server. The game starts at 0-0-2, so only one player on the first serving team serves before the first side out (Rule 5.B). After that, when the first server's team loses a rally, the partner serves; when the second server's team loses a rally, it is a side out.
- Singles: the score is two numbers, server first. Losing a rally on serve is a side out.
- Which side: the server serves from the right when their side's score is even (including zero) and from the left when it is odd.
- Winning: games are usually to 11, win by 2. Tournaments can use 15 or 21, also win by 2.
The score keeper uses the "Serving side won" and "Receiving side won" buttons so it never needs to know player names or positions. Undo steps back one rally at a time.
Worked example
Team A serves first at 0-0-2 and wins the rally: 1-0-2, same server from the left. Team A loses the next rally. Because only one server serves at the start, that is a side out, and Team B serves at 0-1-1 from the right.

Limits
The score keeper does not cover rally scoring, where the winner of every rally scores, or tournament rules on timeouts and switching ends. It also cannot tell if the wrong player served; the call shows who should be serving, so players can check.
