Every answer follows the same five steps.
1. Find the real question
We read the top search results and note where they disagree, skip an edge case or rely on outdated rules.
2. Go to the rulebook
We cite the current official rules and the governing body's own explanations. Third-party sites are used only for context and named in the text.
3. Give the ruling first
The answer starts with the call: in or out, fault or play on, add or subtract. Then come the scenarios and exceptions.
4. Fact-check
An editor checks each rule statement and number against the cited source. Worked examples are labeled as our own arithmetic.
5. Expert review and updates
Answers go to a qualified reviewer when one is available; the reviewer's name appears only after approval. Rulebooks change every year or two, so we recheck answers when a new edition is published and show the last updated date on every page.
